Blue Lacrosse's Gubner Earns Repeat Recognition On IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- 2018 Wellesley College lacrosse graduate Jenny Gubner (Pleasanton, Calif.) has been named to the 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll. The honor is the second of Gubner's career, as she was also an IWLCA Honor Roll qualifier in 2017. 

The IWLCA honored 639 student-athletes from 189 different institutions on the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division III Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. 

A three-time New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference selection in her her career, Gubner graduated from Wellesley with a degree in applied physics and astronomy. During her time at Wellesley she studied abroad in Spain and interned at SpaceX while also posting 76 points on 54 goals and 22 assists in 62 career games for the lacrosse team. In addition to Gubner's spot on the IWLCA Honor Roll, the Wellesley College lacrosse program was named as one of 339 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as an IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad for the 2017-18 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the women's lacrosse team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
