Wellesley Track's Cwik, Narvaez Named USTFCCCA All-Region Honorees

WELLESLEY, Mass. --  The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honorees for the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season this week and Wellesley College seniors Sonja Cwik (La Canada, Calif.) and Isabella Narvaez (Cali, Colombia) have each been recognized for their outstanding performances this season.

To be named All-Region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-five of an individual event in the region, according to final TFRRS data, or be part of a top-3 relay team. Cwik ranked fourth in the New England region with a time of 9:49.44 in the 3000m at the Tufts Final Qualifier. Narvaez had the number five time in the region in the 200m, thanks to her time of 26.01 at this year's DIII New England Championships.

Cwik's mark also qualified her for the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at North Central College's Al B. Carius Track in Naperville, Illinois. Cwik will run in the Women's 3000m on Saturday, March 11, at 5:00 PM EST (4:00 PM CST). Live video will be available at NCAA.com.
