POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Wellesley College squash team competed at the 2010 Seven Sisters Championship hosted by Vassar College on Saturday afternoon. The Blue finished fourth overall.

In their first match of the day, three-time defending champion No. 1 Mount Holyoke defeated No. 4 Wellesley, 9-0, recording sweeps at every position. At No. 3, Mount Holyoke's Shara Robertson dropped just four points in an 11-0, 11-2, 11-2 win, while No. 4 Laurian Lue Yen allowed just five points in her victory, 11-0, 11-4, 11-1.

No. 3 Smith claimed third with a 7-2 win over Wellesley in the third-place match. Four matches went to at least four games, with Smith taking three of those. Wellesley picked up a win at the top of the ladder as Ashley Stevens gritted out a five-game win over Smith's Shanita Williams, 11-9, 11-9, 12-14, 11-13, 13-11. For Smith, No. 2 Meg Oliverio, No. 6 Alice Reznickova, and No. 8 Catie Blunt all picked up wins in four games. Wellesley's second victory came from No. 9 Rachel Amrhein, who defeated Smith's Elena Plesco, 11-7, 12-10, 11-5.

Mount Holyoke and Vassar will square off at 4:00 p.m., battling for the Seven Sisters title for the fourth consecutive year.
