COLUMBUS, Ohio - Both Wellesley College track student-athletes advanced to the finals with strong performances on day one of the 2011 NCAA Indoor Championships hosted by Capital University. Blue sophomore Randelle Boots and junior Leah Clement will now compete in tomorrow's finals.
Boots won her heat of the mile run on Friday, posting a time of 4:58.97 in the preliminaries. A late kick solidified her spot in the finals, which will be contested on Saturday at 4:45pm.
Clement took second in her heat of the 800 meter run, recording a 2:14.45. Her second place finished automatically qualified her for tomorrow's finals, which will start at 6:20pm.
