DEDHAM, Mass. -- The Wellesley College track team raced strong at Northeastern University's Bernard Solomon "Husky" Track & Field Invitational held in Dedham on Saturday. The Blue picked up two event wins to go along with 11 top-10 performances.

Highlighting the meet were winning runs from Randelle Boots and Leah Clement. Boots provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in the 1,500m run, recording a time of 4:37.75. Clement took top honors in the 800m run, completing the race in 2:16.04 and qualifying for the New England Div. III and ECAC Div. III Championships in the process.

Wellesley also picked up a third place finish in the 4x100m relay. The team of Alexis Puccetti, Clement, Sheena Dupuy and Katie Shulenberger combined for a time of 53.55.

The two strongest events for the Blue were the 1,500m and the 800m. In the 1,500m, Boots led three top-ten finishers. Cristina Lucas took fourth overall in a personal best time of 4:48.21, while Camille Basurto took sixth in a time of 4:51.77, also a personal best. Both Lucas and Basurto qualified for the New England Div. III and ECAC Div. III Championships. Also recording personal best times in the 1,500m were Jane Lodwick, Margaret Wehner, Evelyn Haro, Eden Bass, and Skye Roberts.

In the 800m, all three Wellesley entrants finished in the top ten. Behind Clement, Lucas took sixth in a time of 2:27.30, and Basurto finished eighth in 2:30.46.

Also for the Blue, Shulenberger finished in seventh in both the 100 and 400-meter hurdles, while Puccetti took ninth overall, second in her section, in the 400m run.

Completing the day's highlights, Zoe Sobel completed the program's first successful triple jump, finishing in eighth place in the event.
