Boots Earns All-America Honors; Takes Third in 1,500m

DELAWARE, Ohio - Wellesley College sophomore Randelle Boots took third place overall in the 1,500m event at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Boots ran 4:23.34, breaking her previous record of 4:24.66 as well as surpassing the stadium record. By virture of her third place finish, she earned All-America honors for the third time this school year, and the fourth time in her career.

Christy Cazzola won the event in a time of 4:22.11, while Middlebury's Margo Cramer took second in 4:23.15, narrowly ahead of Boots.

The outdoor All-America honors puts a final exclamation point on the 2010-11 season for Boots. She earned Wellesley's second national championship finish in school history at the NCAA Indoor Championships, where she won the mile. She also earned All-America honors in cross country with a 25th place finish.

Boots also earned two All-New England honors this season, while being named the NEWMAC Track Runner of the Week two times.

The 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships closed out the first varsity season for the Wellesley College track team.
