NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Junior Camille Basurto represented the Wellesley College track and field team at the 2012 ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday evening at the Armory in New York.
Basurto took seventh place in the 5,000-meter event, after being seeded 14th overall. The junior recorded a time of 17:59.53, breaking the 18-minute mark for the first time in her career. She also shaved over 10 seconds off of her seed time of 18:09.63.
Wellesley track and field will now await final selections for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship, held March 9th and 10th in Grinnell, Iowa.
