PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Wellesley College squash team closed out the 2013-14 season with a hard-fought 7-2 loss at the hands of Colby College on Sunday at the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships.
All nine matches were competitive, with four matches going to at least four games and many others staying close throughout three games. Wellesley nabbed wins at two and five, where first-years Meera Nayar and Rhea Advani each picked up four game victories.
At two, Nayar dropped her first game 11-8, but rebounded to win the final three, 11-9, 11-9, 11-4, over Tara Tischio. At four, Advani continued her excellent tournament with an 11-7, 5-11, 11-9, 11-6 victory over Florence Robinson. Advani finishes the CSA Championships with an undefeated mark of 3-0.
Wellesley first-year Ruby Feng and sophomore Kate Loftus each played close battles, but eventually falling in four games. Feng won the second game of her match, while Loftus picked up a victory in the first.
Wellesley finishes the season with a 13-8 overall mark and a #24 national ranking. Colby earns a #23 ranking based on the victory.
