Wellesley Squash Sweeps Past Boston College on Senior Day

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Seniors Meera Nayar (Chicago, Ill.), Rhea Advani (Mumbai, India) and Ruby Feng (Old Lyme, Conn.) all earned 3-0 victories as Wellesley College squash celebrated senior day with a 9-0 victory over Boston College on Wednesday evening at the Dana Hall School's Shipley Center Courts. 

The No. 28 ranked Blue cap the 2016-17 regular season with an overall mark of 7-10. Boston College is now 2-6 on the year. 

Nayar swept by Christina McLaughlin at No. 1, winning 3-0 (11-7, 11-8, 11-9), while Advani was the winner, 3-0 (11-5, 11-1, 11-6) in the No.4 match-up versus Tia Lim. Feng made it a perfect 3-for-3 for the Wellesley squash class of 2017 with a 3-0 (11-3, 11-4, 11-5) victory over Luly Dickinson at No. 5.

The remaining Wellesley players all grabbed 3-0 victories to finish the sweep. At No. 2, first year Eva Mullarkey (Locust Valley, N.Y.) extended her team-best unbeaten streak to seven-straight matches with a 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-4) win over BC captian Carlie Ladda. Junior Haley Connor (Boston, Mass.) defeated Grace Lavoie at No. 3, 3-0 (11-5, 11-2, 11-6) and first year Eunbie Coe (Los Angeles, Calif.) took down Erin Anderson, 3-0 (11-3, 11-5, 11-6) at No. 6. 

Wins from junior Meredith Curry (Medfield, Mass.), sophomore Lumi Kinjo (Yokyo, Japan) and first year Elena Ubeda (Natick, Mass.) in the No. 7, 8 and 9 matches closed out the 9-0 Wellesley victory over the Eagles.

Wellesley will now turn to the College Squash Association (CSA) Women's Team Championship, Friday-Saturday, February 24-26 at Princeton University. The Blue are likely to compete for the Epps Cup, for women's teams ranked 25th through 32nd. For more information, visit: collegesquashassociation.com.
