Wellesley Track & Field Runs to Multiple PRs at BU Valentine Invite

BOSTON -- Wellesley College track & field sophomore Ari Marks '22 ran to a time of 10:06.75 in the 3000m to lead the Blue on Friday at David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University at the BU Track & Tennis Center.

Marks dropped 30 seconds off their DIII NE qualifying 3000m time (10:36.49) at last week's Tufts Cupid Challenge, finishing fourth 33rd overall in the event at the cross-divisional meet. Marks was the top Division III finisher in the morning heat of the 3000m and is now fourth on Wellesley's all-time indoor records in the event.

Later in the evening, senior Eva Paradiso (Burlington, Vt.) paced a group of four Wellesley competitors in the Mile, finishing with a PR of 5:10.91 to take third in her heat and 138th overall. Classmate Elizabeth Wegman (East Sandwich, Mass.) followed, taking third in her heat and 185th overall with a PR of 5:20.00. Sophomore Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine) added a time of 5:23.02 to finish sixth in her heat and 199th overall, while senior Keiko Hilmo (Saint Paul, Minn.) was sixth in her heat and 218th overall with a PR of 5:27.28.

Wellesley track & field will be in action tomorrow, Saturday, February 15, at MITs Gordon Kelly Invitational.
