WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Four members of the Wellesley College track & field team will compete on Saturday, February 29, at the 2020 Division III New England (DIII NE) Indoor Track & Field Championships at Middlebury College's Virtue Fieldhouse.
Seniors Elizabeth Wegman (East Sandwich, Mass.) and Eva Paradiso (Burlington, Vt.) will each run the Mile at approximately 12:00 PM on Saturday. Wegman is slated to compete in the opening heat with Paradiso to follow in the second of the three heats.
Wegman ranks 63rd in the event thanks to her adjusted time of 5:23.17 at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational. She had also qualified for the DIII NE Championships in the 1000m with a time of 3:11.08 at the Bowdoin Invitational on February 22. Paradiso is 24th in the region in the Mile with a time of 5:12.68 from the Tufts Cupid Challenge on February 8.
Sophomores Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.) and Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine) will follow in the 3000m, with heats beginning at 1:50 PM. Marks is ranked 13th in the region in the event with an adjusted time of 10:11.97 from the BU Valentine Invitational. Bradbury checks in at No. 31 in the region in the 3000m with a time of 10:29.87 from the Tufts Cupid Challenge.
