CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After day one of the MIT Invitational, Wellesley College swimming and diving sits in fourth in the standings. The event is taking place at Zeisger Center Pool.

Leading the team competition for the women is host MIT with 227 points, followed closely by Tufts (222). RPI (99) is in third place while the Blue (70) are in fourth, ahead of Emory (65), Keene State (57), and Simmons (51).

Wellesley's "A" team consisting of juniors Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.), McKaela Glanville (Menlo Park, Calif.), sophomore Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.), and first year Aubrey Cantrell (Palo Alto, Calif.) came in sixth place in the 800 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 7:49.26, while Tufts "A" team won the event. Wellesley "B" and "C" finished 14th and 15th respectively. The "B" squad consisted of sophomores Julia Lucey (Old Greenwich, Conn.), Maya Hart (Menlo Park, Calif.) and first years Kavita Sekhon (Los Angeles, Calif.) and Julia Reich (Bronxville, N.Y.). The "C" team was made up of juniors Alice Johnson (Seattle, Wash.), Maddie Hoesel (Kapp'a, Hawaii), sophomore Arya Wu (Shenzhen, China), and first year Leah Butler (Eugene, Ore.)

First year Elsa Marsden (Vienna, Va.) and senior Lily Duff (Scituate, Mass.) competed for the Blue in 1-Meter diving. Marsden came in 15th place with a score of 184.70 while Duff took 22nd with a score of 123.95.

The MIT Invitational continues tomorrow with a 10:00 AM morning session and a 6:00 PM evening session.
