CAMBRIDGE Mass. - Wellesley College swimming and diving remained in fourth after day two of three on Saturday at the MIT Invitational from Zesiger Center Pool.

The big story of the day was first year Kavita Sekhon (Los Angeles, Calif.), who placed second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke prelims with a time of 1:03.75, shattering Wellesley's school record by over two seconds. The time was good enough to earn Sekhon an NCAA "B" Cut. Sekhon managed the break her own record in the finals with a second place finish and a 1:03.40 time. 

In the 200 Yard Freestyle relay Wellesley's "A" team of juniors Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.), McKaela Glanville (Menlo Park, Calif.), and first years Aubrey Cantrell (Palo Alto, Calif.) and Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.) finished eighth in the prelims with a time of 1:38.49, within a second of Wellesley's all-time record. The team also earned eighth in the finals.

Sophomore Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.) swam a season-best 2:09.72 to finish ninth in the 200 Yard Butterfly finals. Cai also came in 10th in 400 Yard IM prelims. Cantrell finished ninth in the 200 Yard Freestyle event prelims with a personal best time of 1:56.19. Cantrell also finished ninth in the "A" heat finals.

Liu came in second in the 100 Yard Backstroke finals with a personal best 57.37, within a .4 seconds of the school record. Sophomore Angela Zhu (Bayside, N.Y.) rounded out the day for the Blue with 25.41 in the 50 Yard Freestyle to qualify for finals alongside Mitsuoka. Mitsuoka finished 10th in the finals with a time of 24.92.

The Blue return tomorrow at 10 AM for the final day of the MIT Invitational.
