Blue Track & Field Competes at Tufts Cupid Challenge

MEDFORD, Mass. – Senior Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.) takes first place in the 3000 meter run at the non team scoring Cupid Challenge hosted by Tufts University.

Marks set a personal best 9:57.18 in the 3k run and her time was the second fastest in Wellesley Blue history. Junior Claire Anderson (Denver, Colo.) took fifth place with a solid time of 10:22.11. Just behind her was teammate Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine) in sixth place at 10:27.04 and in eighth was Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.) clocking a 10:37.46. All Blue members in the top-10 set a new personal best in the 3000. Finishing inside the top-20 was Amy Tao (Hong Kong, China) who ran an 11:15.40.

Junior Sally Richardson (Orono, Minn.) ran a 27.81 and took ninth place out of 36 runners in the 200 meter dash. Also competing for the Blue was Taylor Quaye (Redondo Beach, Calif.) at 29.14 and Merete Ogah (Austin, Texas) at 29.47.

Junior Dallas Kehoe (Norwell, Mass.) was the top finisher for the Blue in the 400 meter dash, clocking in at 1:04.53. Classmate Alejandra Castillo (Chapel Hill, N.C.) posted a 1:06.22 in the event.

First year Sana Khan (Weston, Conn.) placed 16th in the 800 meter run at a new personal best 2:40.53 and sophomore Emily Wall (Stuyvesant, N.Y.) was the top Blue finisher in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:24.00.

The sole runner in the mile run was first year Jesenia Lopez (Fontana, Calif.) who ran a 6:18.96.

The squad of Kehoe, Richardson, Arianna Sablad (Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Quaye ran a combined 1:51.95 in the 4x200 meter relay to earn fifth place.

Sophomore Ana Rubin (Weston, Fla.) competed in the high jumps and had a best score of 4.26m. Three Blue members saw action in the shot put, with Kiara Dozier (Honolulu, Hawaii) at 8.34m, Zoe Shaw (Portland, Ore.) at 7.28m, and Millie Stone (Los Angeles, Calif.) at 4.05m.

Wellesley will next compete in the David Hemery Valentine Invite hosted by Boston University on Friday, February 11.
