WORCESTER, Mass. – First years Aubrey Cantrell (Palo Alto, Calif.), Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.) and the 400 Medley Relay set program records for Wellesley College swimming and diving on day two of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships at WPI on Friday.

MIT widened their lead on Friday, followed by Wheaton, Springfield, Coast Guard, WPI, Wellesley, Mount Holyoke, Babson, Clark, and Smith.

Cantrell broke Wellesley's 200 Yard IM program record during the prelims in the morning before bettering her time in the finals with a 2:08.14 to tie for fourth in the finals. Classmate Lara Dashti (Kuwait) finished third in the B finals with a collegiate-best 2:10.84 while junior McKaela Glanville (Menlo Park, Calif.) took tenth  in the A finals with a 2:12.42.

Wellesley's 400 Yard Medley Relay A team of Liu, first year Kavita Sekhon (Los Angeles, Calif.), sophomore Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.), and junior Ariana Mitsuoka (Centennial, Colo.) earned an NCAA "B" cut while setting a program record with a time of 3:50.52. During Liu's initial backstroke leg of the race she set the Blue's 100 Yard Backstroke program record with a 56.74 time while earning a NCAA "B" cut.

Cai finished fourth in the B finals for the 500 Yard Freestyle swimming a 5:11.58 while Mitsuoka placed ninth in the B finals of the 50 Yard Freestyle with a 25.04.

First year diver Elsa Marsden (Vienna, Va.) made the finals for 3-meter diving, finishing tenth with a score of 343.85.

The Blue's 200 Yard Freestyle "A" Relay team of Tracey Liu (Princeton, N.J.), Dashti, sophomore Maya Hart (Menlo Park, Calif.), and Glanville earned seventh in the A finals with a 1:40.25.

Tomorrow sees more action at the NEWMAC Championships beginning with prelims at 10:00 AM.
