MEDFORD, Mass. – Wellesley College track & field finished eighth out of 13 teams at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational hosted by Tufts University on Saturday.

Host Tufts claimed the top spot with 178.5 points. Coast Guard was second with 142.5 and Connecticut College placed third with 77. Brandeis (62.5), Smith (57), Suffolk (51), Mount Holyoke (35), Wellesley (34), Colby-Sawyer (21), Regis (20), Fitchburg State (16), UMass Dartmouth (11.5) and Emmanuel (6) rounded out the field.

Junior Emily Doyle (Mobile, Ala.) set a new personal best in the Weight Throw with a distance of 12.63m, good for sixth place.

Sophomore Charlie Barron (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and junior Aoife Fitzgerald (Paxton, Mass.) went three-four in the 400m dash with times of 1:03.34 and 1:03.90.

Sophomore Claire Peng (Chapel Hill, N.C.) took third in the 800m with a time of 2:30.78. Classmate Simone Beauchamp (Aurora, Colo.) had a time of 2:35.22 to claim sixth. Beauchamp also ran a time of 5:27.79 in the Indoor Mile to finish eighth.

Sophomore Sara Maeve Klingensmith (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and junior Merete Ogah (Austin, Texas) were sixth and eighth in the 200m race. Klingensmith ran a time of 28.04 while Ogah had a time of 28.59.

Sophomore Emily Brydges (Suffield, Conn.) placed eighth in the 3000m race with a personal-best time of 10:47.30.

Junior Erin Dickinson (Papillion, Neb.) grabbed a point with an eighth place finish in the Triple Jump. Dickinson had a distance of 9.94m.

Wellesley's 4x200m Relay team of Senior Taylor Quaye (Los Angeles, Calif.), Barron, Ogah and Klingensmith finished third with a time of 1:52.21 to earn six points for the Blue.
