BREWSTER, Mass. – Wellesley College golf sits in second place after day one of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship held at the Captains Golf Course on Saturday.
The Blue posted a team score of 320, 15 strokes behind current tournament leader Babson (305), at the 5,612-yard Port Course.
Sophomore
Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) leads the 58-player field with a first round score of 74 (+2). Bajpai went out in 39 and came in with a one-under back nine of 35.
First-year
Sophie Lim (Boston, Mass.) is in the top-10 after posting a 79 (+7).
Sophomore
Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) came away with a +11 (83).
Sophomores
Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) and
Maria Li (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) each shot an 84 with 42s on the front and back. Lewis and Li also had two birdies a piece on the back nine.
Day two of the NEIGA Championship starts at 9:30 AM tomorrow. The teams will compete on the Starboard Course on Sunday.
