SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College swimming & diving won 12 events and collected a 157-122 team win against Mount Holyoke College on Saturday at Mount Holyoke College Natatorium.
The 200 Medley Relay team of first year Lily Fender (Burnsville, N.C.), junior Lara Dashti (Kuwait City, Kuwait), and seniors Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.) and Maya Hart (Menlo Park, Calif.) started the day with a time of 1:53.86 to win the event.
Sophomore Chloe Weingarten (Rochester, Minn.) topped the 1000 Free and 500 Free fields with 11:44.51 and 5:46.64 performances.
Dashti (1:08.03), Hart (1:12.69) and sophomore Chelsea Park (Long Beach, Calif.) (1:13.97) went 1-2-3 in the 100 Breaststroke. Dashti went on the top the 200 Breaststroke field with a time of 2:29.35. Park took second in the 100 Fly by putting up a 1:03.39 performance.Â
Junior Elsa Marsden (Vienna, Va.) was the 1-Meter Diving champ with a score of 212.15. The junior later won 3-Meter Diving with a final total of 198.55.
Fender earned first in the 200 Free with a time of 2:03.91 and 200 Back with a time of 2:12.71.
Cai captured 200 Fly gold, leading the way with a time of 2:10.87. Not content with one event win, Cai later finished first with a time of 55.18 in the 100 Free and 4:46.78 in the 400 IM.
First year Grace Hu (Andover, Mass.) was the 100 Back runner up, finishing with 1:07.61 on the clock. Hu placed second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:59.36.
Next up, the Blue are set to compete at the MIT Winter Invite from December 6-8. The Lyons are back in action on December 6-7 at the RIT Invitational.
