WRENTHAM, Mass. – Wellesley College cross country won the 6k Pop Crowell Invitational on Saturday. The Blue came in first out of 11 teams.
The Blue posted a winning score of 42. Gordon, the race host, came away with second place with a score of 63. Endicott was third (77), followed by Franklin Pierce (101), Emerson (113), Wentworth (209), Regis (216), Rivier (218), Fitchburg State (225), Lesley (243) and NHTI (309).
Junior
Emily Brydges (Suffield, Conn.) set the pace for the Blue and finished third overall in a time of 23:05.3. Junior
Claire Peng (Chapel Hill, N.C.) was next for Wellesley in sixth place at 23:36.8.

Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) - 24:16.7, first-year
Helen Yang (Los Angeles, Calif.) - 24:17.9 and senior
Alicia Naranjo-Champion (El Monte, Calif.) - 24:35.6 placed 11th, 12th and 13th, respectively, to round out the top five Wellesley finishers.
Junior
Elise Lanahan (Greenville, S.C.) covered the course in a time of 24:50.4 to place 15th out of the 84-runner field. Also competing for the Blue included first-year
Adelaide Maguire (Oakland, Calif.) (23rd, 25:45.6), first-year
Leeya Rice (Closter, N.J.) (31st, 26:21.0) and sophomore
Maggie Yan (Montvale, N.J.) (33rd, 26:34.8).
Next up, the Blue compete in the Cardinal Invitational at Wesleyan University on Saturday, September 21.
