Blue Golf Sitting in Second After Day One of George Phinney Classic

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Wellesley College golf is in second place out of 11 teams after one day of the George Phinney Classic, hosted by Middlebury College at the Par 71 Ralph Myhre G.C.

Williams leads all teams with a score of 304. The Blue (313) are in second, trailed by New York U. (314), Middlebury A (319), Hamilton (320), Middlebury B (320), Amherst (321), Wesleyan (323), Bowdoin (330), Vassar (352) and Saint Lawrence (355). Williams sophomore Natalie Cheong (Las Vegas, Nev.) leads all individuals with a score of 73 (+2).

Sophomore Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) shot a 75 (+4) to finish fourth out of 63 competitors after 18 holes. Classmate Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) sits one stroke behind with a score of 76 (+5) for fifth place.

Sophomore Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) and first year Savannah Boyd (Shanghai, China) each recorded an 81 (+10) while sophomore Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) had an 84 (+13) for the day.

Sophomore Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) is playing as an individual and carded an 82 (+11).

Day two of the 36-hole event is tomorrow with play starting at 9:30 AM.
