WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Wellesley College golf shot a 295 (+11) as a team to lead the 23-team field after 18 holes of the Williams Invitational, hosted by Williams College at the Par 71 Taconic G.C.
The Blue hold a six stroke advantage over second place New York U. and Amherst (301). Babson (305) and Williams (314) round out the top five.
Sophomore Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) had four birdies and carded a 70 (-1) to earn first out of 123 competitors after one day of action. Classmate Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) is currently in fourth place after shooting a 72 (+1).Â
Sophomore Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) (76, +5), and first years Savannah Boyd (Shanghai, China) (77, +6) and Sophie Lim (Boston, Mass.) (84, +13) are also competing for Wellesley.
Day two of play begins tomorrow at 9:30 AM.
