WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Wellesley College golf continued its winning ways by topping the 23 team field at the Williams Invitational, hosted by Williams College at the Par 71 Taconic G.C. The Blue posted a program-best 36-hole winning score of 592 (295-297).
Wellesley finished eight strokes ahead of second place New York U. (600). Host Williams (607), Amherst (609) and Bowdoin (619) all finished in the top five. Bowdoin first year Emily Renoff (Glen Ridge, N.J.) led the 123 competitor leaderboard with a score of 139 (71-68).
Wellesley sophomore Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) set a Blue program record for 36 holes with a score of 143 (72-71) to take second place. Classmate Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) also cracked the top five in fourth place with a score of 145 (70-75).
First year Savannah Boyd dropped three strokes on Sunday (151 - 77-74) to tie for 11th. Sophomore Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) (153 - 76-77) and first year Sophie Lim (Boston, Mass.) (165 - 84-81) rounded out Wellesley's winning team.
The Blue will look to keep the hot streak going at the Hamilton College Invitational on October 5-6.
