NEW YORK, N.Y. – Wellesley College track & field started 2025 at the Ramapo Season Opener on Friday at The Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory. The Blue competed against teams from the Division I, II and III level.
First year Ellie Wolf (Irvine, Calif.) ran a time of 26.94 in the 200m dash to claim 17th out of 71 runners. Senior Merete Ogah (Austin, Texas) finished right behind with a time of 27.09 for 19th place. Junior Sara Maeve Klingensmith (Chapel Hill, N.C.) came in at 28.60.
Senior Aoife Fitzgerald (Paxton, Mass.) paced the Blue in the 400m with a time of 1:03.55, taking 18th out of 49 individuals and winning her heat of the event. Senior Charlie Barron (Chattanooga, Tenn.) also competed in the event, clocking in at 1:04.53.
Senior Erin Dickinson (Papillion, Neb.) took 11th out of 26 competitors in the Long Jump, reaching 4.92m. Dickinson later earned 10th in the Triple Jump with a distance of 10.20m.
Junior Claire Peng (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and senior Alicia Naranjo-Champion (El Monte, Calif.) both ran the Indoor Mile. Peng finished with a time of 5:35.58. Naranjo-Champion was just behind with a personal-best time of 5:43.42.
In the 800m event, first year Leah Willis (Mercersburg, Pa.) put together a 2:33.25 performance to finish in the top half of all competitors.
First year Helen Yang (Los Angeles, Calif.) topped Wellesley's competitors in the 3000m with a time of 11:28.56. Sophomore Perry Huang Kemper (Boise, Idaho) came in at 12:15.46. First year Addie Maguire crossed the finish line at the 12:19.81 mark.
Wellesley's 4x400m Relay team placed eighth with a time of 4:18.10.
