PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Wellesley College track & field junior Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) raced against top Division I competition in the 3000m Steeplechase event at the Penn Relays on Thursday.

Whinney came in 28th overall, crossing at 11:11.16. The junior bettered a top season time by over four seconds. The 11:11.16 mark currently ranks No. 28 in Division III this season.

The Blue compete at the NEWMAC Championships tomorrow and Saturday at Mount Holyoke College.
