WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Wellesley College golf began its inaugural appearance at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship on Tuesday. The event is being hosted at the Kingsmill Resort & Spa. The Blue opened competition on the River Course. Â
Play was delayed for nearly five hours by heavy rains. As a result, the team did not finish its opening round and will finish both the first and second rounds tomorrow. At the time that play was suspended, the Blue were 15 shots over par and sat in seventh out of 34 teams. However, the number of holes played varied from team to team.
Sophomore Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) shot two strokes over par across 14 holes. Wang carded an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole, and had birdies on the first and tenth holes.
Sophomore Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) sits three shots over par after 15 holes. Du had six pars in a row on the back nine when play was suspended.
First-year Savannah Boyd (Shanghai, China) went five over across 15 holes and was three over on the front.Â
Sophomore Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) was also five shots over par after playing 14, making birdies on the 11th and 13th.
Sophomore Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) rounded out the team, finishing nine over in 16 holes.
The team is back in action tomorrow, first finishing the first round, before playing round two at the nearby Plantation Course. Check
