Blue Crew Places 11 on CRCA Scholar-Athlete Team

WILMINGTON, Del. – Eleven members of Wellesley College crew have received the 2025 College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete honor.

Recent graduates Claire Johnson (Lexington, Mass.) and Colette Kennedy (Mill Valley, Calif.), rising seniors Bronnie Bailey (Virginia Beach, Va.), Hannah Bates (Fair Haven, N.J.), Caroline Hester (Washington, D.C.) and Marina West (San Juan Island, Wash.), and rising juniors Bella Cooper (Dallas, Texas), Frances Dickinson (Pittsford, N.Y.), Rachel Hu (Newbury Park, Calif.), Mia Saracino (West Kingston, R.I.) and Cordelia Thomas (St. Paul, Minn.) have all scored the accolade.

Kennedy earns a third career Scholar-Athlete recognition. Bailey and Bates both receive the accolade for a second consecutive season.

To qualify, an athlete must meet both academic and athletic requirements, such as being in at least their second year of eligibility and  maintaining an average cum. GPA of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, student-athletes must have rowed in their institution's NCAA or IRA (lightweight) eligible boats for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races or race in an NCAA Boat at their Conference Championship/NCAA Championship.


The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association works to promote a positive collegiate rowing experience by fostering a diverse and inclusive community of coaches that value their professional development and promoting equity & leadership within the sport. The CRCA serves as the voice and advocate for its members, in order to grow and promote excellence in collegiate women's rowing.
