KEENE, N.H. – Wellesley College cross country captured fourth out of 27 teams at the 6k Keene State Invitational on Saturday.
The Blue had a team score of 157, only trailing No. 2 Williams College (33), Bowdoin College (54) and No. 6 Tufts University (138). Coach Phil Jennings' team defeated NEWMAC foes Smith College, Babson College, Wheaton College, Springfield College and Mount Holyoke College.
Sophomore Cadence Chang (Boston, Mass.) was the Blue's top finisher, collecting 12th out of 244 total runners with a personal-best mark of 22:30.3. Classmate Zoë Cort (San Francisco, Calif.) was the next team member to cross the line, capturing 31st with a PR time of 23:04.9.
First-year Nina Letts (Bryn Mawr, Pa.) claimed 37th at 23:17.5, followed by classmates Theo Wilkinson (Lewisburg, Pa.) (45th - 23:37.7) and Lilah Connor (Yarmouth, Maine) (46th - 23:37.9). Sophomore Dylan Burmeister (Nobleboro, Maine) finished in the top 25% of all runners, taking 55th by recording a 24:01.2 time.
Also running for Wellesley was senior Perry Huang Kemper (Boise, Idaho) (personal best 75th - 24:16.0), first-year Michelle Su (Winchester, Mass.) (85th - 24:22.4), sophomore Bela Kumar (Natick, Mass.) (97th - 24:38.3), sophomore Sophia Trabuco (Rochester, Minn.) (98th - 24:38.9), junior Helen Yang (Woodland Hills, Calif.) (106th - 24:43.8), senior Julia Sun (Chappaqua, N.Y.) (115th - 24:52.9), first-year Paige McGaraghan (Menlo Park, Calif.) (133rd - 25:11.0), junior Addie Maguire (Oakland, Calif.) (149th - 25:39.5), first-year Sienna Franich (Mission Viejo, Calif.) (172nd - 26:25.2)
