WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Phil Jennings, Wellesley College Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach and Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Department of Physical Education, has announced the hiring of Nicole Downin (Teter) as the Assistant Distance Coach for the Blue cross country and track & field programs.
Downin (Teter) is a two-time Olympian in track & field with extensive experience coaching athletes and developing successful training programs. A 1991 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships Silver Medalist in the 800m race, Downin went on to reach the semifinals round of the 800m event at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, and competed in the event again at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
Downin has been the Head Boys Track & Field Coach at Holliston High School since 2022. She is also the Assistant Cross Country Coach for Holliston. Previously, Downin was an Assistant Track & Field Coach at Team Run Eugene, where she assisted in coaching elite middle-distance and distance athletes competing in events ranging from the 800m to the marathon.
Outside of running, Downin is a Licensed Massage Therapist, with a degree from Lane Community College in Lane County, Ore.
Downin holds a degree from the University of Arkansas, where she was a two-time All-American runner for the Razorbacks.
