3/20/2026 6:59:00 PM

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – No. 12 Wellesley College golf sits in seventh place after 18 holes at the three-day Jekyll Island Collegiate at Great Dunes, hosted by Oglethorpe University.

The Blue combined for a first round score of 310 (+22) to be in seventh place out of 24 teams after Friday's round. Wellesley played with Randolph-Macon and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

The Jekyll Island tournament is historically one of the strongest fields in Division III Women's Golf and this weekend is no different with 15 of the top-25 teams in the nation in action, including eight of the top-10.

This year's tournament is being played on the newly restored par-72, 5,613-yard Great Dunes layout. The front nine is a par-35 with a pair of par-5s and three par-3s, while the back features two par-5s and one par-3 for a par 37.

First-year Jessica Li (Temecula, Calif.) carded a 77, which included 12 pars and a birdie, to be in t-22nd out of the 120-player field.

Kaurvaki Bajpai (Chantilly, Va.) tied Li in 22nd place with a 77, in the first round of the season for the junior. Bajpai shot a 41 on the back and a 36 on the front with a pair of birdies.

Junior Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.), also in the first round of the season, posted a 78 after 39s on the front and back to place t-29th.

Sophomore Savannah Boyd (Shanghai, China) also shot a 78 to tie for 29th. After going plus-8 in the opening 10 holes, Boyd went 2-under in the final eight holes of the round.

Junior Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) rounded out the lineup with an 80 and is in 50th place.

Competition continues tomorrow at 12:20 PM. The Blue will be paired with NYU and Redlands.

First-years Allyson Duan (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) and Kate Lee (Lake Oswego, Ore.) competed at the Indian Mound course, the second of the Jekyll Island Golf Club's three courses. Duan recorded two birdies en route to a 77 on the par-72 layout. Lee posted an 82 with a birdie and finished the round with four straight pars.
