MEDFORD, Mass. – Wellesley College track & field had three student-athletes compete at Tufts Last Chance Meet on Saturday. The highlight of the day was senior Kenya Francis (Atlanta, Ga.) besting her own program-record in the Weight Throw.
Francis beat a previous best by .04m, throwing for 14.94m and taking ninth place.
First-year Sophia Wang (Livingston, N.J.) cleared the bar at 1.55m in the High Jump, grabbing eighth place. Wang later came in 11th in the Triple Jump, reaching a mark of 10.49m.
Senior Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) ran the Mile and crossed the finish line at 5:10.82. The time earned Whinney 15th.
Outdoor track & field season will begin on Saturday, April 4 at the Coast Guard Invitational.
