Henry and Khoo Both Earn USFCA Major Awards

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College fencing junior Lauren Khoo (San Francisco, Calif.) has been named the Division III Fencer of the Year in foil by the U.S. Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA). Additionally, first-year Rai Henry (Takoma Park, Md.) has earned Division III Newcomer of the Year honors for sabre.

Khoo led the Blue this year with 56 wins in dual matches. Khoo picked up many wins over Division I opponents and went 9-3 at the NFC Conference meet. The junior ended the year by advancing to the semifinals and coming in 13th at the NCAA Northeast Regional in foil.

Henry recorded 48 wins as a first-year for the Blue. Like Khoo, Henry was successful against high-level competition, with 22 wins versus Division I foes. Henry's season concluded when she advanced to the quarterfinals and came in 22nd at the NCAA Northeast Regional in sabre.


The U.S. Fencing Coaches Association is an association of United States fencing coaches, and was established in 1941.
