BRUNSWICK, Maine – Wellesley College golf is in seventh place after the first day of the 36-hole Polar Bear Shootout, hosted by Bowdoin College at the Brunswick Golf Club.
On a rainy day in Brunswick, Maine, the team made the most of the Par 73 course.Â
Sophomore Jessica Li (Temecula, Calif.) went two over on the day with a 75. Li's +3 weekend (149) tied for 11th out of 85 competitors.Â
Senior Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) had four birdies en route to a 75. Wang tied for 20th overall with a weekend score of 151.
Senior Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) had a 39 on the in and a 44 on the out for an 83 and tied for 40th overall (157).
First-year Madison Soong (Chino Hills, Calif.) carded an 81 on Sunday following a 79 on Saturday. The 160 placed the first-year in a tie for 55th.
First-year Caris Lee (Los Angeles, Calif.) also had an 81, finishing the weekend at 166 and in a tie for 58th.
Senior Sarah Yeh (Danville, Calif.) finished the day with a 77 playing as an individual and was t-29 for the tournament. Senior Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) shot a 79 and tied for 55th overall while first-year Michelle Su (Clermont, Fla.) carded a 77 and tied for 67th.
Next weekend, the Blue will play in the George Phinney Classic in Middlebury, Vt. at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course.
