Returning varsity student-athletes with a strong commitment to supporting the growth of first year student-athletes and building community within varsity athletics are eligible to apply for the role of Athlete Mentor (AMP). Each year, one Athlete Mentor serves as a resource for a group of first year athlete mentees, fostering a fun and positive environment during this year of transition. Athlete Mentors support LeadBLUE programming throughout the year, in addition to providing opportunities for first years to connect. As athletics community leaders, Athlete Mentors are expected to engage in department programming.
AMP Responsibilities:
- Engage with first year student-athletes regularly
- Attend student leader trainingÂ
- Assist with orientation activities
- Organize community-building eventsÂ
- Assist with implementation of community-building events
- Assist and provide input on LeadBLUE programming
