Biography
Linda Sommers ‘89 recently moved back to her home town of Middlebury, Vermont, after teaching and coaching for many years at a private school in California. At Wellesley, she majored in Philosophy and Spanish while being a four-year member of the field hockey and lacrosse teams, serving as captain of both for two years each. While in graduate school at Columbia University, she was tapped to coach their field hockey and lacrosse teams in an effort to move those programs to the Division I level. While in California, she worked to expand the game of lacrosse, starting a varsity team at one school, umpiring at the college and high schools levels whenever possible, playing for an LA team at Nationals, and eventually being inducted into the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of US Lacrosse Hall of Fame. She is excited to play pickleball with JJ in the upcoming months.
