Wellesley College Athletics

Liz Woodward joined Wellesley as Assistant Crew Coach in September, 2025.

Woodward is well seasoned in the coaching world of crew. She comes to the Blue from MIT's Rowing Club after spending the last two years as the Women's Competitive Team Coach. Woodward has also spent time as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Harvard-Radcliffe in 2022-23, the Novice Girl's Coach at Arlington-Belmont, a Recreational Coach at Westford Rowing Club and has several years of experience with other rowing clubs.

A graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, Woodward was a four-year coxswain for the Bulldogs’ rowing team. She served as a captain for the 2019-20 season and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. 

Woodward went on to row for the CRI Competitive Master’s Women’s Team Fall in Boston, Mass. back in 2021. She also holds a USRowing Level 2 Coaching Certificate as a US Rowing member.
