WELLESLEY, Mass. -- The Wellesley cross country team finished
second overall at the 2010 Seven Sisters Cross Country
Championships at Vassar College on Saturday. The Blue
finished with an overall score of 33 points, just one point behind
first place Vassar.
Leading the Blue, sophomore Randelle
Boots crossed the finish line at a time of 18:36 to
win the 2010 Individual Championship in the field of 87 finishers.
Boots' time set a new course record at Vassar.

Basurto finished next for Wellesley in 19:01 to take
sixth place overall. Molly
Shanley and Cristina
Lucas followed right behind finishing in 19:03 and
19:11, grabbing seventh and eighth place, respectively.
Leah
Clement was the fifth runner to cross the line for the
Blue, taking eleventh in a time of 19:30.
Rounding out the finishers for Wellesley were Margaret
Wehner (20:24) who placed 24th and Jane
Lodwick (20:29) who placed 26th.
Wellesley's first four finishers (Boots, Basurto, Shanley and
Lucas) earned All-Seven Sisters honors, tying the Blue with Vassar
for most representatives on the team. Swartmore rounded out
the All-Seven Sisters team with two honors.
Wellesley's team score of 33 was just one behind Vassar, who
finished with 32 total points. Following Vassar and Wellesley
were Swarthmore (56), Smith (132), Mount Holyoke (137) and Bryn
Mawr (168).
The Blue next race on Saturday, October 23rd at 12:30 pm when
they host the Wellesley Invitational.
