WENHAM, Mass. -- Junior Leah
Clement's individual title led the Wellesley College
cross country team to a third place finish at the 39th-annual Pop
Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College.
Clement picked up the first cross country win of her career,
taking the top spot in a time of 18:47. Her winning time
pushed her ahead of 271 finishers in the 5K event.
After Clement, Wellesley's Adiba
Manning finished in 12th place overall with a time of
19:49. Eliza
Tibbits took 29th in 20:16, while Mina
Juhn (20:38) and Andrea
Gumushian (20:38) rounded out the scorers for the
Blue, finishing in 38th and 39th place.
Other highlights for Wellesley included personal best times from
Zoe
Sobel (20:39), Catherine
Roseman (21:43) and Anna
Tupper-Bridges (22:49).
Overall, the Blue finished with 119 points, good for third place
among 26 scoring teams. Wellesley ranked behind only Division
II Southern New Hampshire and Salve Regina, who tied with 90 total
points each.
Wellesley next races at the New England Intercollegiate
Championships on Saturday at Boston's Franklin Park.
