NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Sophomore Megan
Turchi scored with 1:19 left in double overtime
lifting the Wellesley College soccer team to a 2-1 victory over
Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference
(NEWMAC) match-up.
Turchi's score was her second game-winner this season, bringing
her career total to six deciding goals. Earlier this season, she
recorded a penalty kick tally to win a 2-1 double-overtime game
against UMass-Boston.
After a scoreless first half, Wellesley took a 1-0 lead in the
61st minute, as first-year Lena
Cardoso recorded her third goal of the season off of a
Turchi assist. Coast Guard rallied late as Cierra Collins found the
back of the net with 12:03 left in regulation.
Junior Sarah
Gray needed just two saves to register the win. Coast
Guard's Mary Mills tied a season-high with 16 saves in the
loss.
Wellesley outshot Coast Guard 20-6 to improve to 6-5-1 overall
and 3-1-1 in conference play. The Blue have now played five double
overtime game, winning four while recording a tie in the other.

State, on Tuesday at 4:00pm.
