WENHAM, Mass. -- The Wellesley College volleyball team cruised
to 3-0 victories over both the University of Southern Maine and
Gordon College at a non-conference tri-match on Saturday
evening. The wins improve Wellesley's overall record to 11-4
this season.
The Blue opened play with a sweep over Southern Maine, posting
set scores of 25-7, 25-20, and 25-13. Kellyn
O'Brady led the offense with 11 kills, while
Isabel
Custodio, Taylor
King, and Kaitlin
Bradshaw each tallied four kills each.
Victoria
Peng dished out 19 assists in the match, while
Allison
Li picked up 12 digs and Jenna
Watson added two blocks.
Against Gordon, Wellesley's sweep came with set scores of 25-9,
25-9, and 25-18. Custodio had a great all-around game with
six kills and 15 assists, while O'Brady, Julia
Adams, and Kira
Jordan paced the offense with five kills each.
Peng recorded 14 assists in the match with Vivian Hu
notching 12 digs.
The Blue return to the court on Tuesday with a key NEWMAC
match-up at Springfield beginning at 7:00pm.
