Cross Country Competes at Codfish Bowl

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Wellesley College cross country team raced at the 44th annual Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park on Saturday morning. The Blue finished 13th overall in a competitive field of 23 squads, comprised of Division I, II and III colleges, running clubs and prep schools.

Wellesley was led by senior Andrea Gumushian, who placed 103rd overall (21:29) in the 5,017-meter race that featured 251 finishers. Junior Mina Juhn and sophomore Doris Berman were the next Blue runners across the line, as Juhn finished in 21:40 (113th) and Berman ran a 21:51 (124th). 

Also factoring into the scoring for the Blue were sophomore Sarah Roundy and first-year Chloe Emerson. Roundy ran a 22:05 to finish in 137th, while Emerson finished in 141st running a 22:10.

Rounding out the finishers for the Blue, junior Eden Bass ran a 22:13 (143rd), first-year Taylor Bickford clocked a 22:23 (156th), first-year Alice Sun finished in 22:39 (167th) and sophomore  Anna Tupper-Bridges came in at 24:58 (221st). 

Wellesley cross country next competes on Saturday, October 1st at the Bowdoin Invitational beginning at 11:00am.
