Blue Crew Finishes Third at Head Of The Charles

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Wellesley College crew team competed this weekend at the 50th Annual Head Of The Charles Regatta. The event, the largest two-day regatta in the world, featured 55 different races, with Wellesley competing in the Alumnae Eight and Collegiate Eight.

Wellesley competed on Saturday in the Alumnae Eight, finishing 20th, which secures entry into the event next year as well.  The Blue varsity crew were in action on Sunday in the Collegiate Eight division, taking third place out of 30 boats for their best finish ever in the event. The Blue recorded a time of 17:42.663. 

Wellesley's boat was made up of first-year coxswain Stephanie Kim sophomore stroke Hannah Barton, sophomore seven-seat Kathryn Barth, sophomore six-seat Anna Hakes, junior five-seat Loren Lock, junior four-seat Charlotte Benishek, sophomore three-seat Olivia Duggan, junior two-seat Sahar Ibrahim and senior bow Emma Reuder

Wellesley is back in action next weekend, as they host the 2014 Seven Sisters Championship. The Blue will be looking for their sixth-straight title at the event.
