WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College crew is set to compete at the 2024 Head Of The Charles Regatta (HOCR) on Sunday, October 20, at the Charles River in Boston, Mass.
Founded in 1965, the HOCR is a three-day rowing event featuring many of the top rowers, teams and clubs from around the world. This year's event will take place from Friday-Sunday, October 18-20, 2024. Wellesley will compete in the Women's Collegiate Eights on Sunday afternoon starting at 2:44 PM.
The Blue will have three entries in the Women's Collegiate 8+ on Sunday. Wellesley's Varsity Eight Crew, or Wellesley A, will compete with bow No. 8, the Second Varsity Eight, or Wellesley B, will compete with bow No. 18 and the Third Varsity Eight, or Wellesley C, will compete in bow No. 34.
In 2019, 2021, and 2022 the Varsity Eight took runner-up on the Charles River. In 2022, the Varsity Eight set a record for the best time in program history with a time of 16:40.742.
