WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College soccer wrapped up the regular season with a 2-0 NEWMAC shutout of Salve Regina University on Saturday.
Sophomore Abby Ding (Bellevue, Wash.) and first year Emma Hogarth (Chandler, Ariz.) handled the scoring for the Blue (6-9-3 Overall, 2-7-2 NEWMAC).Â
Hogarth tallied the initial goal two minutes and 40 seconds into the game by redirecting a corner kick off the post. Junior Reika Ishibe (Guilford, Conn.) assisted on the play.
Ding upped the Blue's lead to two at 15:30 with a first career goal for the Blue.Â
Wellesley outshot Salve Regina (2-13-4 Overall, 1-6-4 NEWMAC) 20-8. Each team earned a pair of corner kicks. Junior Riley McNair saved four shots in a shutout performance for the Blue. Junior Reagan Moffatt (Denville, N.J.) made six stops for the Seahawks.
