Wellesley Swimming & Diving In Fourth After Second Day of MIT Winter Invite

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Wellesley College swimming & diving sits in fourth place after day two of the MIT Winter Invite at the Zesiger Center Pool on Saturday.

MIT leads the team competition with 988.5. Tufts follows with 815.5 points and RPI (438), the Blue (162) and Simmons (149) round out the competition.

In the 200 Fly A final senior Cecilia Cai (Palo Alto, Calif.) claimed ninth with a time of 2:08.45. First year Grace Hu (Andover, Mass.) nabbed seventh in the B final of the event with a 2:17.42 performance.

Wellesley's 200 Free Relay team of sophomore Chelsea Park (Long Beach, Calif.), first year Lily Fender (Burnsville, N.C.), and seniors Shawfong Hsu (Taipei, Taiwan) and Maya Hart (Menlo Park, Calif.) won the B final with a 1:42.90 performance.

Hart finished second in the 100 Breaststroke B final with a personal best time of 1:08.30. Hsu (1:10.76), junior Emily Richardson (Bedford, N.H.) (1:13.43) and Park (1:13.90) all competed alongside Hart in the B final.

Richardson followed up by taking sixth in the 100 Back B final with a time of 1:03.15.

Sophomore Chloe Weingarten (Rochester, Minn.) (4:49.57), Hu (4:54.04) and Hart (4:56.18) all raced in the 400 IM B final.

The final day of competition continues tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM.
