WORCESTER, Mass. – Wellesley College volleyball swept Clark University in a NEWMAC match by scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-13 at Kneller Gymnasium on Saturday. The win ups the Blue to 8-9 Overall and 3-4 in conference play this season.

Junior Noelle Winn (San Francisco, Calif.) became the ninth individual for the Blue to ever record at least seven aces in a win. Winn added 26 aces to the impressive day. Senior Kaija Kunze-Hoeg (Eagan, Minn.) and junior Evie Hill (Rocklin, Calif.) both topped Wellesley with eight kills apiece. Junior Caroline Meyer (Indianapolis, Ind.) grabbed 15 digs.

Sophomore Isabella Alcott (Maple Grove, Minn.) posted a match-high 10 kills for the Cougars (1-15 Overall, 0-7 NEWMAC). Junior Julia Dopazo (Miami, Fla.) nearly had a double-double with 10 digs and eight assists. Senior Yumeng Liu (Beijing, China) also finished with 10 digs.

An early 7-0 run in the opening set put the Blue in the driver's seat up 10-3. Clark never got back within five points with the lead reaching double-digits at 19-9 on the back of a kill from Hill. Wellesley ended the 25-14 set with 13 kills and a sparkling .312 hitting percentage, in addition to three aces.

The second set produced an identical 25-14 scoreline for the visitors. After initially being tied 5-5, Wellesley put distance between the two teams with a 5-1 stretch. The set snowballed for the Blue, building its advantage up to 12 at 20-8 before grabbing the 2-0 lead. The set notably featured five aces in a row from Winn.

Wellesley cruised to a convincing 25-13 third set win to pull off the sweep. The Blue added 12 more kills to its total with four more aces, making 12 on the day.
