Soccer Scores 20 Spots on the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – 20 members of the Wellesley College soccer team have been named to the 2025 NEWMAC Women's Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team. 

Selections must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2025 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Seniors Ella Hong (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), Reika Ishibe (Guilford, Conn.) and Riley McNair (Cupertino, Calif.) all scored a third straight trip to the Academic All-Conference.

Classmates Sascha Fleesler (New York, N.Y.), Kyra Narunatvanich (Naperville, Ill.), Elina Saab-Sundén (Palo Alto, Calif.) and juniors Abby Ding (Bellevue, Wash.), Dika KC (Pittsford, N.Y.), Mae Nephew (Duluth, Minn.), Mia Shanafelt (Mercer Island, Wash.) and Zoe Stephens (Chicago, Ill.) have each snagged a second career honor.

Sophomores Emma Hogarth (Chandler, Ariz.), Gaby Steele (San Francisco, Calif.), Lucille Sugarman (Western Springs, Ill.), Payton Sullivan (Barrington, R.I.), Alesha Tariq (West Bloomfield, Mich.), Isabella Tolosa (Santa Clara, Calif.), Solveig Unteroberdoerster (Washington, D.C.), Sarah Wang (Mason, Ohio) and Grace Westmoreland (Raleigh, N.C.) have all been named Academic All-Conference recipients in their first year of eligibility.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) consists of 12 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Salve Regina University, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
