WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College basketball sophomores Trinity Barrow (Evans, Ga.) and Mirella Funari (Phoenix, Ariz.) have both earned a place on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The award is given to athletes who in addition to being impactful on their respective team, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, and have achieved second year status at their academic institution
Barrow led the Blue with 12.6 points per game, 3.3 assists per game, 3.1 steals per game and 32 made three pointers. The sophomore earned NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week twice and made the NEWBA Weekly Honor Roll Second Team in early January.
Funari put up 8.7 points per game with 2.6 assists per game and 2.4 steals per game. The second year veteran shot .732 at the free throw line and had six steals and six assists against MIT on January 29.
