MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – Wellesley College softball senior Charis Chung (San Gabriel, Calif.) and sophomore Sarah Wicker (Ponte Vedra Beach, Calif.) have each received NEWMAC Softball Second Team All-Conference honors for their respective performances this season.
Charis Chung | Sr. | San Gabriel, Calif. | NEWMAC Second Team All-Conference
Chung led the Blue in batting average (.358) this season, putting up 29 hits with 18 runs scored, 12 RBIs and eight steals. The senior recorded eight multi-hit games this season. In the outfield, Chung didn't make a single error in NEWMAC competition and saved several runs with athletic grabs.
Sarah Wicker | So. | Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. | NEWMAC Second Team All-Conference
Wicker tossed 99.1 innings with a 1.55 ERA, seven wins and 88 strikeouts this season. The sophomore threw eight complete games with a shutout win over Emerson and a save. At the dish, Wicker produced nine hits, scored four runs and drove in four.Â
