WELLESLEY, Mass. – Keri O'Meara, Head Softball Coach and PERA Associate Professor of the Practice, has announced the hiring of Amy Culhane as assistant coach of the Wellesley College softball team.
Culhane joins Wellesley after serving as the Assistant Softball Coach at Division I Harvard University from 2017-23. She was instrumental leading the Crimson to Ivy League Championships in 2018, 2019, and 2023.Â
Culhane has also previously coached softball at Division III Pomona College (2013-17) and served as a Performance Psychology Consulting Intern for Tufts University from 2017-19, where she provided performance counseling to individual athletes on the varsity field hockey, softball, ice hockey, football, men's lacrosse, and women's basketball teams.
Outside of coaching, Culhane serves as a Fieldwork and Internship Coordinator for the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, where she coordinates BGSP's unique psychoanalytic training experience and places students in residential mental health agencies in Eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.
Culhane holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Riverside. Culhane pitched for UC Riverside and ended her career ranked among the Highlanders top-ten career leaders in saves, games started, innings pitched wins, strikeouts and complete games. She went on to receive a Master of Education degree in Counseling, Sport and Performance with a Psychology Concentration from Boston University.Â
