WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College basketball used a 14-0 run in the third quarter to overcome a halftime deficit and earn a 55-46 NEWMAC victory over Wheaton College on Saturday at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse.

Junior Trinity Barrow (Evans, Ga.) was the game's leading scorer, supplying 20 points and a pair of made three-pointers for the Blue (9-9 Overall, 3-2 NEWMAC). Barrow also grabbed nine rebounds while recording four steals, which ties the junior for third in Blue program history with 198 in the career. Sophomore Stacy Chen (Minneapolis, Minn.) attacked in the paint, coming away with a career-high 13 rebounds. Classmate Ava Shane (Plano, Texas) added 10 points and seven boards.

The Lyons (5-14 Overall, 1-4 NEWMAC) were led by a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double from senior Regan Keyter (Highlands Ranch, Colo.). Sophomore guard Daniella MacDonald (Newtown, Pa.) scored 11 off of the bench, hitting a trio of shots from beyond the arc.

Junior Cheyenne Colbert (Brookline, N.H.) hit a trey on Wheaton's first possession of the game, but the Lyons then went scoreless for nearly five minutes. Wellesley scored its first field goal of the contest at 4:39 on a jumper by Chen to tie the game at 3-3. The scoring picked up in the final four minutes and the visitors took a 14-8 lead with 14 seconds to go. Barrow hit a jumper as time expired to pull Wellesley to within 14-10 after 10 minutes.

Wellesley opened the second with back-to-back buckets to take a 15-14 lead. The teams then traded the next few baskets, but Wheaton connected on three three-pointers in the middle of the frame to go in front 25-19. The Blue answered with a 6-0 run to knot the score at 25-25 with 2:33 on the clock. Wheaton scored the final two field goals of the half to take a 29-25 lead at the break.

Midway through the fourth, a Barrow step-back jumper put the Blue in front by 12 at 48-36. Wheaton chipped away to eventually cut the deficit to 48-43 after a Colbert jumper with 1:11 left to play.
